Basic Prices and guides about cost
Basic info is found up here, pro-level info is found down the page!
Pricing:
Pricing:
- We charge $100 an hour... the same rate we have charged since 1989.
- Inflation sucks big time, we will not inflate our rates, ever.
- We have a $50 minimum.
Pro-Level Info.
- We will price by the piece after evaluating the design for size, detail and placement. Large coverage tattoos, like sleeves are by the hour.
- EXAMPLE: a very small, highly detailed tattoo on the stomach can be more expensive than a larger, simple tattoo on a forearm.
- Not every part of the body is easy to work on, so some spots (like ribs and stomach) take longer to tattoo.
- A simple looking design (to you) can be a very difficult design to do. Talk to your artist about easy vs hard styles.
- Have a budget in mind. You know what you have to spend, everybody else is just guessing.
- The reason most shops have a minimum cost relates to signing you in, getting your design ready, placing the stencil, setting up with single use equipment like needls, tubes and ink then actually doing the tattoo.
Bottom Line
- Hopefully you are talking directly with your artist about budget, style, size, placement and details.
- Hopefully you lock down on a price. There are stories out there of the price changing when the tattoo is done.
- Take the time to look at completed tattoos, read reviews and do your research on your artist or shop.,
- Be realistic, a good tattoo is an amazing value for the price and a lifetime of being yours. Be smart, be happy.
